-------------------Lava Coast-----------------
The Chapel Hill is photography holy and Jerry like it so much in the early time,so i make a stroke with a pen ,stay for two days in Sn?fellsnes , with good weather ,exactly make a lot of good thing. Of course,you can not wandering around the same mountain in two days, the rest of the time, we spanning Sn?fellsnes, visit the southern coastline of the peninsula, part of the Snæfellsjökull National Park.
Day 11. Snæfellsjökull-> Arnarstapi) -> The Lóndrangar Cliffs -> Djúpalónssandur Beach [136km]
Snæfellsjökull is a volcano covered by glaciers，do you feel familiar about the names? She is the birthplace of Jules Verne's science fiction book "Journey to the Center of the Earth". This book was being adapted for film "geocentric adventure" later. There is volcanic caves (Vatnshellir Cave) exploration project in this area. But our trip to visit is not the cave, but the coast, the primary landform of the Phil Snyder Glacier National Park is volcano lava, therefore, i have my way of calling coastline of lava coast.
Arnarstapi is portal to entering Snæfellsjökull National Park ,which is also the starting point for some lava coastline,the town is very mini, only a few buildings scattered on the coast. It seems quiet and peaceful.
However, Arctic Tern is more like the master here, flocks of terns flying overhead in people with impunity,grumpy roar, it seems we seize their territory,so everyone here is like crossing the street mice, people will take a twig on his head to avoid terns.
Mottled gray black, perhaps the biggest difference with other coastal .The same is arch-shaped rock coast, The Arch seems to cannot compare completely by Arnarstapi Arch. black,with ancient mysterious atmosphere.
The Lóndrangar Cliffs as two towers standing in lava coast, they are basaltic Volcanic Plugs，that is the whole after the eruption destroyed, eroded remnants of surviving. Nowadays the twin towers of the cliffs has become the habitat of many seabirds.The strange thing is ,we are in Iceland along the coast, but it is only to see the first lighthouse here.
Djúpalónssandur Beach, a black beach, pebbles by the waves washed repeatedly to black and black, and exceptionally crystal.
Along the way, from the mottled gray black to bright black，Lava Coast, is so different.That day, the sun is shining, sometimes i will think, if it were cloudy melancholy, Like that, lava coast will be a different landscape when we first arrived in Iceland, perhaps more in line with the Iceland temperament.
Hindsight, came back and saw photos Compare to map repeatedly confirmed,this should be a famous mountain - Sn?fellsj?kull.
